Top 2029 Guard Reese Jeamel Breaking Down Her Recruitment & Offers
At 6-foot-1, Reese Jeamel is quickly establishing herself as one of the premier guards in the Class of 2029. A highly touted wing and combo guard currently attending MacDuffie School (MA) after beginning her high school career at Coventry High School (CT), Jeamel combines elite athleticism, three-level scoring ability, and defensive versatility in a way that has already attracted attention from some of the nation's top programs.
Competing with IBelieve Elite on the grassroots circuit, Jeamel has emerged as one of the most heavily recruited players in her class. Already holding 11 Division I offers and drawing interest from several national powers, her recruitment continues to gain momentum despite still being in the early stages of her high school career.
We caught up with Jeamel to talk about her game, recruitment, and what will ultimately shape her college decision.
How would you describe your game, and what do you bring to the table at the next level?
"I would describe my game as athletic and fast. I think my biggest strength is how athletic I am and how high I can jump as a girl. That ultimately makes it easier to get to my pull-up and just elevate above my defender."
Jeamel's athleticism immediately stands out when watching her play. At 6-foot-1, she possesses the size of a wing while maintaining the skill set and mobility of a guard. Her ability to elevate over defenders, score at all three levels, and impact the game on both ends of the floor makes her one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2029 class.
Which schools are currently recruiting you?
"The schools currently recruiting me are the 12 schools I have offers from which are URI, CCSU, University of Florida, Arizona State, Penn State, Harvard, Arizona, Providence, Stony Brook, SMU, Georgetown and, Ball State."
She also shared several programs she has been communicating with consistently:
"Some schools that I have been in contact with are Wisconsin, Illinois, Cornell, Indiana, Villanova, UNC and Duke."
Jeamel expanded on some of the relationships that have stood out during her recruitment:
Rhode Island: "URI was a big offer for me considering it was my first offer. I loved Coach Tammi Reiss because she took a chance on me."
Central Connecticut State: "While I haven't talked too much with their coach, I do like how local the school and campus are."
Florida: "University of Florida was another big one for me because it was my first Power 5 offer."
Arizona State: "ASU quickly got on a call with me after the Live Period in Houston even though I was injured for more than half our games."
Penn State: "I didn't talk much to Penn State because they called during one of my workouts, but it's a very nice school."
Harvard: "I had a nice FaceTime call with Harvard and they really liked the braids I had."
Arizona: "Arizona has a very, very good coach and I like her a lot. She just seems very energetic."
Providence: "Providence was very big on family, which is a huge thing for me as well."
Stony Brook: "I didn't talk too much with them, but last summer they were actually my first-ever recruiting call."
SMU: "I know SMU is a very nice school, but I haven't talked with them much yet."
Georgetown: "Georgetown's coach was super energetic and just seemed like a great person to be around."
She also discussed some of the schools that have been building relationships with her despite not yet extending offers.
Wisconsin: "I had a very long and personable call with Wisconsin, and although I don't know much about the school yet, the person I spoke with really stood out to me."
Illinois: "Illinois was another pretty long call where we spent a lot of time just getting to know each other."
Cornell: "I didn't talk with Cornell for very long, but of course I know that's a great school."
North Carolina: "I had a nice conversation with UNC and I know how beautiful the campus is."
Duke: "I've had two calls with Duke. One of them was very long, but it was so nice because it was really just getting to know the coach. We shared a lot of laughs, and Duke is my dream school to get an offer from."

What unofficial or official visits have you already taken?
"I have not taken any unofficial or official visits."
Despite not yet visiting campuses, Jeamel has done an excellent job building relationships with coaching staffs.
Do you have any upcoming visits planned?
"I do not have any dates for any visits either."
As her recruitment continues to expand nationally, visits will likely become a larger part of the process in the coming years as she evaluates programs more closely.
What factors will play the biggest role in your college decision?
"The biggest factor in my decision for college basketball is mainly the coaches and how they coach and my relationship with them, as well as the surrounding staff and what their style of coaching is."
For Jeamel, relationships remain the foundation of her recruitment. Building trust with coaches and understanding how they develop players are critical components of her decision-making process.
She also values the people surrounding a program, believing that coaching style, culture, and staff support are all essential pieces of finding the right fit at the next level.
Final Thoughts
Reese Jeamel already possesses many of the qualities college coaches covet in a modern guard. At 6-foot-1, her combination of size, athleticism, and three-level scoring ability creates matchup problems all over the floor. Her explosiveness and ability to elevate over defenders give her a unique advantage that few players in her class can match.
Still early in the 2029 recruiting cycle, Jeamel's recruitment already reflects national attention. With 11 Division I offers, interest from several high-major programs, and continued development on the grassroots circuit, she is positioning herself among the elite prospects in her class.
