Texas Women's Basketball Lands Promising Forward Lovisa Åsbrink Hose from FAU

The Texas Longhorns Women's Basketball team continues to strengthen their roster, securing a commitment from Lovisa Åsbrink Hose, a talented 6-foot-6 freshman transferring from Florida Atlantic University. Hose joins head coach Vic Schaefer’s squad following a solid debut season, where she competed in 22 games and earned five starts for the Owls.

At FAU, Åsbrink Hose showcased impressive potential, earning AAC Freshman of the Week honors on January 6 and AAC Weekly Honorable Mention on March 4. Her notable performances included a career-high eight points against both East Carolina (Feb. 26) and Memphis (Feb. 8), where she shot 80 percent from the field. She also demonstrated her defensive presence by recording a season-high three blocks against Charlotte (Feb. 22) and grabbing a career-best 13 rebounds in her first collegiate start versus Temple (Jan. 8).

Hailing from Sweden, Åsbrink Hose offers significant size, versatility, and tremendous upside, attributes highly valued by the Longhorns. Under Schaefer's proven guidance in developing post players, Hose is expected to quickly enhance Texas's frontcourt presence and help the team build upon their recent success.
