Shooting & Movement

Lucy has a natural feel for moving without the ball—she’s constantly on the move, slipping through screens, making sharp backdoor cuts, and finding open spots on the floor where she can get her shot off before the defense even knows what happened. Her ability to read defenses and make the right cuts at the right time keeps defenders on their heels, forcing them to chase her around and creating easy scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates. She doesn’t just move for the sake of moving—there’s purpose behind every cut, and she knows exactly where to go to put herself in a position to score.

And if she gets a clean look? You might as well start heading back on defense. Her shooting stroke is smooth, quick, and reliable, and she’s always ready to catch and fire if the defense gives her even a sliver of space. She’s the type of shooter who doesn’t need much time or room to get her shot off, and once she’s locked in, it feels like everything is going in.

What makes Lucy even more dangerous is her ability to make smart reads when the defense overcommits. If a defender tries to take away her shot, she’ll slip a pass to an open teammate or use a head fake and one dribble to create a better look. She plays with poise and confidence, never seems rushed, and knows how to capitalize on the smallest mistakes by the defense.

Anticipation & I.Q.

Lucy’s anticipation is next-level. She has a knack for reading passing lanes and picking off passes before the offense even sees it coming. Her ability to jump passes, get steals, and mess up the other team’s rhythm makes her a real problem on that end of the floor. She’s always engaged, alert, and seems to have a sixth sense for where the ball is headed.

She’s a low-maintenance, high-impact kind of player—the type that every team needs. She doesn’t force shots, doesn’t over-dribble, and just seems to know how to play within the flow of the offense. Her ability to contribute without needing a ton of touches makes her incredibly valuable, and her unselfishness helps keep the team balanced and connected. – BTN SCOUTING
